The Olive Garden Pasta Pass meal #1
183¼ pounds, that's my starting weight.
I was one of the lucky 1000 people who got to purchase a Never Ending Pasta Pass from Olive Garden. Starting today, I can go to any Olive Garden in the country and order anything from the Pasta Bowl menu any time I want for the next seven weeks. That's 98 lunches and dinners. That's a LOT of pasta.
I chose to go to the Olive Garden near my workplace in Tacoma at 1921 S 72nd Street. I was seated quickly and I asked the server how the Pasta Pass worked. A few minutes later, the General Manager, Scott, was at my table introducing himself and letting me know how everything worked. He wanted to make sure I was being taken care of and was genuinely glad to see me there. My server, Dustin, was very attentive and made sure I had everything I needed throughout the meal.
I decided that since I was going to be eating here often, I should start with the basics. I had the salad and breadsticks with a Sprite to start. I ordered the spaghetti with 5 cheese marinara and meatballs. The food arrived nice and hot. The noodles were a good consistency, cooked but not mushy. The meatballs weren't as good as homemade, but I've never had restaurant meatballs that were. One bowl was enough for lunch.
On my way out, another server thanked me for coming in and congratulated me on my Pasta Pass. It's nice to know that the workers here will be aware of who I am as a Pasta Pass holder and that I'll likely be having a pleasant experience.
I'll be weighing myself at the end as well to see how this lifestyle change affects me. I am genuinely curious to see how it goes.
This is meal number 1 out of I don't know how many. It won't be 98, but I plan to get my money's worth out of this.
$100 divided by 1 meal = $100 per meal
